Summer Time

Adam and I have been rather busy lately.Between going on vacation, spending time with family and working on the nursery we seem to fill our days.

Our vacation was wonderful we went to Redriver with my family. The weather was wonderful, I think we all miss the 40 degree mornings and 70 degree afternoons. We did lots of fun things while we were like horse back riding, fishing, four wheeling, and segways. (I only participated in the segways and fishing) All in all it was a great relaxing week with family!

The baby's room is coming along great! We now have it painted, the chandelier hung, and crown molding up. Our furniture hasn't come in yet but should be here very soon. I am hoping we can get the baseboards put up before it comes in. We are getting very excited about the nursery as it comes together!

We have a doctors appointment on Friday and we are taking a baby care/ Baby CPR class all day on Saturday. I love going to the doctor- I know it isn't very eventful but I always feel good after we leave knowing that everything is going as it is suppose to. I am also excited about the baby class I think it will be good for Adam and I. Everything seems to be going great with the baby so far. I can feel her moving all the time now, especially at night. Adam laughs that I have an alien growing inside of me because at night you can see my whole belly moving around.

Ramblings

So not a lot has been going on around here lately..I am 23 weeks now..As most of you know Adam and I went to the doctor about 3 weeks ago and found out that we are going to be having a baby GIRL!! We are both very excited. We kind of expected that we were having a girl because at our 12 week ultrasound the doctor said he thought it was a girl..But now its official! Her name is going to been Keegan Nicole. We struggled picking a middle name~ We considered Estelle or Gail which are Britney and Blair's middle names. They are also family names but after a suggestion from Blair we decided that Nicole- my middle name would be a good fit (I am not named after any one so now Keegan can share my name).

We have slowly started on her nursery..My mom and I went and bought all of the fabrics so that my Nonie can make the bedding, curtains, and accessories. Adam has painted the ceiling and we ripped out the base boards and the closet doors. Our house was built in the 70's so we are trying to gradually update it room by room. Therefore we are putting down new base boards to match the ones we put in the living room, dining room and down the hallway. We also have plans to install new closet doors and a new built in bookshelf as well as paint. As you can tell we have our work cut out for us but I can't wait to see the finished product! Here is a picture of the fabrics we picked out for the nursery

Like I said in my first post..I am not good at this whole blogging thing.
Adam and I have definitely been busy lately. Since my last post we have gotten through my first trimester of pregnancy, celebrated our first anniversary, and became a single income family.
I know Adam was just as excited as I was to get through the first trimester..I am currently 17 weeks and no longer experiencing any type of nausea..Thank Goodness! I also have so much more energy than I did at the beginning. I think one of the hardest things for me now is coming to reality with the fact that I am gaining weight and going to continue gaining weight. I have gained a total of 7.5 lbs as of my last appointment 2 weeks ago. Don't get me wrong I know this is a good thing it is just weird to see and feel your body getting bigger. We go back to the Doctor on June 23rd to find out the sex of the baby! We are so excited to know for sure what it is and I can't wait to start planning its nursery! Here are a few pictures of my baby bump so far!
The week we found out I was pregnant!
13 weeks

17 Weeks

Our First anniversary was the weekend before last. We decided to take a long weekend and go to gruene. We stayed at the gruene mansion in and had a great time! We ate at all of the restaurants there, went to the outlets in San Marcos, shopped in the cute boutique stores, and floated down the river.

On our way to Gruene we came across a Coleman factory store that was having a tent sale. Adam thought he was in heaven!

Here is Adam with all of the stuff he found that he just couldn't live with out!

Us with the top of our cake..

On our wedding night they sent huge pieces of cake to the hotel with us but forgot to send us forks so just bit right into the cake..so we decided to do the same on our anniversary!

Adam thought it would be funny since we didn't smash cake on each others face at our wedding to do it on our anniversary..

Adam and I had decided before we even got married that when we had a baby, if we could afford it, I would be a stay at home mom. After we got married we then decided that due to the stress of my job I would quit when we found out I was pregnant, instead of waiting on the baby to get here first. So we did just that, my last day of work was last Friday. It was a bitter sweet good bye at Corgan. Although it was stressful and unpleasant at times I will miss many of the people who I am so used to getting to see every day! However my first week of being a "House Wife" has been wonderful so far. I have met my mom for lunch twice, cleaned the whole house, finished all the laundry, cooked, baked cookies, got the windshield replaced in my car, gone to the bank..and much more. I know all of these things sound so petty but these are all just a few of the things that stressed me out while working. I never had time to go to the bank or clean during the week. By the time I got home from work it was 6:00 or 6:30 and after Adam and I ate dinner we were exhausted. I am loving having the day to complete chores and run errands and being able to spend time with Adam and night without having to worry about all the things we need to do!

Big News!

Ok, So obviously I am horrible at Blogging..Adam and I have gotten all moved into our new house. It was definitely more of a challenge than we expected. When we found our house one of the things we loved about it was it was "Move in ready" we said we wouldn't have to do anything to it before we moved in...But if you know me you know I like to get things done and want them finished. So we decided to paint and that turned into ripping the painted wood paneling off of one wall taping and bedding it and retexturing that wall as well as another. But you couldn't retexture the wall with out scrapping the random popcorn texture that was on them so we did that also..Then we ripped out the base boards and replaced them throughout the entire house except for the bedrooms..Lastly we decided to do a makeover on our fireplace tearing out all of the wood that surrounded it. Therefore our move in ready house turned into a HUGE project that we could not have completed with out our families..It would be wrong of me to let you read the above with out mentioning one of our biggest hurdles...

Adam and I are having a BABY!! We found out about this huge blessing the day that we closed on our house. What a huge day that was for us! We closed on our house in the morning but Adam had to go into work for a few hours before..I had the whole morning off so when I woke up I decided to do a pregnancy test because I had been feeling very strange..The first one was positive, the second one was positive, and yes the third one was positive as well (I needed more reassurance than just one) I didn't want to tell Adam over the phone but I knew if I didn't tell him the first time I saw him and he found out later that I knew he would be mad..So, Adam and I had planned to meet at the bank to get the check for all of the closing costs for the house. And that is where Adam found out he was going to be a Dad, in the Wachovia parking lot. I got in the car with him, gave him the breakfast I had bought him on the way and told him the good news! He was just as shocked and excited as I was.

Since I am pregnant I was absolutely NO help in fixing up the house or even packing up our loft..I had been feeling very nauseous and sick and helped do very little. Luckily our families were all willing to jump in and help out..
I am feeling munch better now, today I am 10 weeks along..I still have my good and bad days but hopefully with in the next few weeks I will have more energy and be less nauseous. Our Baby is due November 12th. We are very Excited and can't wait for our Journey ahead!

Here are a few Pictures of our work on the house..In the move some how we miss placed our camera battery charger and haven't found it yet so we haven't been able to take the after pictures..When we find it I will post pictures of it finishes!

Our Lives

Well I figured since I read everyone else's blogs I should start one of my own. So I guess I should start by updating everyone on mine and Adam's life.

Adam and I got married in May and moved from Grand Prairie to a loft in Down Town Dallas..It was quite an adjustment but we really enjoy it here..We have had many of our memorable "Firsts" as newlyweds..Our first birthdays, holidays, and vacations as newlyweds were all very special and memorable for us. We look forward to all of the other Memories we will make together.

In November we added the fourth member to our family, Remington. (We have Alley our 6 year old beagle mix that lives with my parents until we move into a house) Remington is a precious, now 4 and a half month old yellow lab. It is funny how much she has changed our lives. We thought it would be a good idea to get our puppy while we lived in our loft since it has all wood floors and it would be "easier" to clean up accidents. Although that was a good idea, we forgot take into consideration the fact that we live on the 7th floor and that it would take about 5 minutes from the time we left our loft door until we could get down the hall, down the elevator, through another long hall and outside to let Remington go potty. Needless to say more times that not she ends up going in the elevator or in the hallway (It makes for a very uncomfortable situation when someone else is in the elevator and your dog starts to go..) but she is learning and getting better!

Despite Loving where we live now Adam and I are about to purchase our first home! We are extremely excited and nervous at the same time. The house is in Plano which is half way between mine and Adam's jobs. We can't wait to have a home to call our own and a backyard for our dogs (I know Adam will be excited at 5:15 am when he gets up to not have to take the long trip down stairs to take Remington out, it will be so nice to just open the back door!) We love the house and can't wait to move in and add our personal touches. We close on March 5th! Everything has gone smoothly so far, please pray for us that everything will continue to go smooth.

That's about all that is new in our lives right now...We will keep you updated!
